  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups ground walnuts
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk for filling
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, butter, eggs, salt, and yeast mixture into a soft dough. Rise until doubled.
  3. Mix walnuts, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla into a spreadable filling.
  4. Divide dough in half. Roll each piece, spread filling, and roll up.
  5. Rise 30 minutes, then bake at 350 degrees until golden, 30 to 35 minutes.

Notes

  • Cool before slicing to keep the swirl neat.
